  • Boosts mood and overall well-being

Yoga Philosophy

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, one of the most influential yoga texts, outlines the eight limbs of yoga. These limbs are:

  • Yamas (moral principles)
  • Niyamas (personal observances)
  • Asanas (postures)
  • Pranayama (breath control)
  • Pratyahara (sense withdrawal)
  • Dharana (concentration)
  • Dhyana (meditation)
  • Samadhi (absorption)

Yoga aims to balance the three gunas (qualities) of nature: sattva (balance and harmony), rajas (activity and passion), and tamas (darkness and inertia).

The ultimate goal of yoga is to realize one's true nature, or the Atman, and to experience unity with the universal self, or Brahman.
