Panchangam

Panchangam Facts

Panchangam is a daily routine of five daily functions, which are:

  • Tithi (Days of the month)
  • nakshatra (Lunar mansion)
  • Rahu Kalam (Time of Rahu)
  • Grahan (Eclipse)
  • Yog (Combination of two planets)

The Panchangam is calculated based on the position of the Sun, Moon, and planets in the sky.

The five daily functions are:

  • Tithi: The day of the month, which is determined by the lunar cycle.
  • Nakshatra: The lunar mansion, which is determined by the position of the Moon in the sky.
  • Rahu Kalam: The time of Rahu, which is the period when Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, is transiting the Sun.
  • Grahan: The time of eclipse, which occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.
  • Yog: The combination of two planets, which occurs when two planets are aligned in the sky.

The Panchangam is an important tool in Hindu astrology, as it helps to predict various events and auspicious times for different activities.
