Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486-1533 CE) was a 16th-century Indian saint and the founder of the Chaitanya movement in Hinduism.

He was born in the village of Mayapuri in the kingdom of Gaur, Bengal, and was the son of Jagannath Mishra and Sita Devi.

Chaitanya was deeply influenced by the Bhagavata Purana and the teachings of Lord Chaitanya, whom he considered to be his guru.
